17w6d

I am nearing the middle of the fourth month and I have gotten a little bit bigger. My mom keeps asking if I'm sure I'm not caring twins... I don't think so. Tomorrow we have our next doctor's appointment, and in two weeks we have our next ultrasound and we will be able to determine if Baby Bucket is a boy bucket or girl bucket. We are very excited. I have started to feel little flutterings and movement; around the middle of the afternoon and at the end of the day. I can't wait to feel that first kick!

Home Sweet Home

Home at last. We just picked up Asher and are home. Thank you for
following this journey with us.

Books on Tape

We are just passing outside NYC on the New Jersey Turnpike. So close
and yet still about 2 hours away.

We have been very lucky to have found a book on tape for this trip
home. It picks up where Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice left off,
except with a very dark twist. I really enjoy it, and it is making the
trip on this dark dreary day.

Good Morning Virginia

We had a wonderful night's sleep and a hot breakfast this morning. I
took a quick walk while Charlie put the bags in the truck. Now on to
the home stretch.

End of Day

We have decided to stop for the night. We are currently at a Holiday
Inn Express in Petersburg, VA. We made it to our destination and boy o
boy is his my knind of place. The colors are orange, yellow, green,
blue, and red and brand spanking new. Pretty well priced too. We plan
to get up in the morning grab a quick bite to eat then take a short
walk on the treadmill before hopping back into the truck. We only have
about 450 miles left for tomorrow. Hooray!

Goodbye Gerogia, Hello South Carolina

We just crossed the Georgia, South Carolina border. The welcome center
was packed and parking was backed up the ramp, but we made it. We took
a little walk before getting back in the truck. We should have walked
a bit longer but the place was packed. Oh well we will need to stop in
100 miles or so for gas, so we have another chance. I just hope we can
stay a little bit ahead of the weather. The north of Florida was a
downpour. I'm glad Charlie drove through that, hr says I get angry and
swear a lot I. Those conditions. Anything to make him happy.

Bagels With !

My favorite place to eat in Delray is Bagels With ! They have the
best bagels and the best combinations. Yesterday I got a bagel with
cream cheese, tomato, and bacon. Today just a bagel with veggie cream
cheese. Charlie's had the bagel with cream cheese, onion, caper, and
nova salmon. It is always fast and delicious. Now back to the road.

On The Road Again

Today marks the end of our days in Florida. We have headed out and are
soon to be on I-95 traveling North. According to Tom-Tom we have 1316
miles and will arrive tomorrow night. We are sad to leave but we must.

Day Six in Florida

Today was different; we woke up and attended a National Croquet Tornament in West Palm featuring Charlie Sr and Tim. They won one and lost one so they play for the Championship tomorrow morning. I must say it was the most civilized sporting event I have ever been to. Not a all like the events I went to or was apart of growing up. There was no yelling, no cheering, there was hardly any clapping. Just four people to a court hitting balls through little white wickets. Granted this is not your average backyard game, these are serious competitors and should not be taken lightly. They all wear white and mean to win. Below is a shot from todays final game.

After game we headed back to Delray, everyone went to the beach so I decided to get some alone time at the pool. Today finally I got a tan. Afterwards we all got ready for a dinner party at the Brights on the intercoastal.

Dinner at the Brights is always a wonderful event. And evening filled with good food, amazing conversation, and a hell of a good time. We never wanted to leave, but sadly tomorrow we head back to Connecticut. Ending this evening at a large table with empty glasses and plates on the intercoastal was the best way to end an almost week in Florida. We have felt loved and well cared for on this visit. We started looking towards nest years vacation and realized we will have a 6 month old baby with us and how our lives will never be the same, but we also realized that it is only going to get better. Thank you Florida, and on that note, this is how I left the evening.

Day Five in Florida

Today started out with a very interesting and involved dream, the short story: a cursed family, treasure hunters and a buried house... Charlie says I should write it all down and publish it as a short story. Too bad it was a dream and somehow they leak out of your brain as you move on with your day... so, moving on.
We have been parking at Abby and Chad's condo, they have a rule about parking trucks in their parking lot. We have been parking there for the past 5 days; this morning we found a note on the window saying we we're breaking the rules and we we're going to be towed if we didn't move the truck. So we drove to the nature preserve and had a lovely walk.

After our walk we packed up the truck and headed to Delray Beach where we ate a marvolous lunch at Sliders; after a short walk we ended up at the Beach! It was wonderful!

Around 4pm the wind picked up and we ended up by the pool at the Little Apartment before heading off to a great dinner spot, Cabana-Cuban food. Where we sat outside and ate and watched the sun set.

On the walk back to the Little Apartment we stopped at the new fancy hotel on Atlantic Ave for some Ice Cream and they had the most wonderful fish tanks I've ever seen. All in all it was an amazing day!

Day Three in Florida

It rained all day today. Charlie and I spent all day working hard on work at the kitchen table. I am currently workingon three designs and need to get into the thick of it. Around 6pm the sun broke through the rain and even though it was still a little chilly Charlie decided to go for a run, leaving me with the entire table to myself and a lot of work to do. Wish me luck that Someday Soon I'll get through it all.

Day Two In Florida

This morning was lovely: we started with a walk/run on the boardwalk, it was a wonderful way to wake up. Then after a few errands we headed north to Delray Beach. We then met up with Charlie SR at the little apartment, then found Tim on the beach. After a short lie in the sun we ventured out to find lunch, which was amazing! After lunch and another short walk we headed back to the little apartment and laid pool side.

Once the clouds started to roll in we decided to head back to Hollywood. We decided to travel along Route A1A, it was a lovely drive and we only saw a handful of drunken college kids on Spring Break.

We are now back at Abby and Chad's and it's make your own pizza night. two down one more to go, I can't wait. More to come tomorrow!!!!

Day One in Florida

After a bit of a lie in this morning and a few errands, Charlie and I
met up up with Charlie Sr and Tim. We spent the afternoon walking
around an early 1900's mansion called Viscaya near Coconut Grove. Many
more pictures to come once I get back to a computer to upload them
all. This picture really sums up the day. It is crisp, clear, and calm
day. We are just sitting now waiting to head out to dinner with Abby
and Chad. It was 81 degrees today and we are so glad to be here!

STATE LINE!

Breakfast #2

After finishing a brief phone catch up with Nell and a walk we
realized we were starving. So we stopped for breakfast #2 at a Perkins
right outside Savana, GA. Now we are refilling the other tank and off
we go, 455 miles left.

IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION:

That I have not been the best at updating our information. I was just
reminded to put in location, location, location. We are currently just
south of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina on I-95.
Also I wanted to mention: why is it everytime we do one of these
drives we always have breakfast with the 65+ group?

One The Road Again

After a great night sleep Charlie and I are about to set out again.
First a hearty, filling, and carb heavy breakfast. I'm driving the
first leg! After daylight savings took away an hour it's still dark
out.

End of Day One

After a long drive we decided to stop and sleep. The first hotel
looked super sketchy so we passed it up. The second had no vacancy. So
twenty miles later the third was just right...sort of. We got into the
room and the toilet didn't work, but we got a discount and a new
room! Goodnight.

Then The Clouds Parted

And we entered vacation land starting in Fredericksberg,VA. Then a few minutes later we saw a double rainbow! Good signs ahead!

Evil But Oh So Good

We have stopped twice now. Cinnabon was there both times. This time I
could not resist. I got the finger stix. So good and warm on a rainy
day. We just filled the tank and Charlie is driving another round; he
knows I would be swearing up a storm driving in rainy weather. He's my
hero, so I gave him a cinnabon stick.

First Pit Stop

We just got back on the road from quick walk around and a snack. About
20miles south of Newark, NJ. According to TOM TOM we have 1218 miles
left. Since I'm pregnant I have been instructed to get up and walk
around every 2 hours to avoid blood clots. This might be a longer than
usual trip. We'll see how it goes. I just wish the rain would stop,
but Charlie's driving now. So that means it's ti e to get my knitting
out!

On The Road

Today we head for Florida! A little family and fun in the sun. We have
just started the journey after dropping Asher at our friends for the
week. It's supposed to rain all day. So we'll see how our travels
progress. Keep posted!

Dress up time

After a long day at work, this is how my husband relaxes.
Introducing: our dog Asher.

Growing, Growing, Growing

My Belly is Growing. I have now purchased maternity jeans and they are much more comfortable than leaving my regular jeans unbuttoned. I am starting to feel better, except for some random head and sholder aches. Life seems to be going well, work is increasing and I might have the oportunity to a new path at work. It's exciting and worrisome all at the same time. I didn't expect to work that much during the summer, we had planned to take things pretty easy and get the house ready for the baby. It looks like my summer might be a little fuller than expected, but I'm really excited about the posibility of trying something new. I have always liked a challange, and a change would be welcomed. Nothing is final yet, however I have a hope that everything will work out for the best. Certainly a little extra money before baby bucket arrives will be extremely helpful.
Other than that life seems to be pretty normal, Charlie and I get a small break next week. We are going to Florida to visit family, and we can't wait to spend the time together. Now we just ahve to get everything together, packed and cleaned so we can enjoy ourselves. Wish us Luck! Pictures and adventures from the road!

Hello World! Introducing Baby Bucket!

I am officially 15 Weeks Today! After keeping the story under wraps for the last 3 months we have decided to announce that we are expecting our first born Due August 27th!
We are very excited and I am slowly getting over the nervousness about having a baby. We decided at the end of November we would pull the goalie and start practicing for a baby. Who would have guessed that 2 weeks later we would be pregnant. Needless to say, I started feeling off around Christmas and we decided to take a few at home tests at the end of December.

Needless to say all four tests came back positive. A few weeks later we had a confirmation form the doctors and an ultrasound! Now a few appointments and another ultrasound later we are happy to announce there will be an addition to our family in a few months.
The morning sickness and ravenous behavior has passed, now I just have some heartburn and a stuffy nose. We will be finding out the sex at the end of April and can't wait!
